A new townhome project from Skylar Homes has been launched in Chestermere’s Lake District community of Kinniburgh.
The $11-million project features three-storey townhomes, ranging in size from 1,336 sq. ft. to 1,640 sq. ft., with three floorplans including two and three bedrooms, both of which have 2.5 bathrooms. End units have double garages, while interior units have a single-car garage. Prices run from $267,200 to $328,000.
Chestermere, 22 km east of downtown Calgary, is known as a year-round, lake resort community with a luxury cottage lifestyle. The 2018 City of Chestermere census data shows a young city where homeownership is the norm, with 85 percent of its 20,732 residents under the age of 60 and more than 85 percent of residents owning their homes, 74 percent of which are single-family homes and 17 percent are duplex or townhouses.
Skylar Homes brings an affordable price point to the area, where owners can enjoy close proximity to beaches and boating, as well as a short commute to Calgary, says Peter Cheung, president of Alture Properties.
“Based on our research, we saw a demand for more affordable housing in the Chestermere area,” says Cheung. “We set out to build something that millennials and first-time home buyers can afford while benefiting from the lifestyle that Chestermere has to offer.
